CHARLTON – Penelope V. "Penni" Cox, 54, of Main St., died Friday, August 31, 2007, at the Life Care Center of Leominster, after a long illness. She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Michael D. Cox of Charlton; four children, Dawn M. Parks of Worcester, Jack L. Johnson of Leominster, Maynard C. Lemere II and his wife Michelle of Weymouth, and James E. Lemere and his wife Angela of Fitchburg; her mother, Vivian (Parks) Eaton of Holden; two brothers, Guy Eaton and Edward Eaton, both of Clinton; a sister, Wendy Normandan of Worcester; her father and mother-in-law, David and Jackie Cox of Shrewsbury; seven grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and several nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Edward Eaton, and was raised in Holden and lived in Clinton and Westboro before moving to Charlton 14 years ago. Penni was a cashier at Charlton Food Mart in Charlton for 7 years, retiring in 2005. Previously, she worked at the Medi-Rite Pharmacy in Charlton and the Daily Item in Clinton. She enjoyed gardening and loved to be around people. Calling hours are Tuesday, September 4, 2007, from 4-7 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 10 H. Putnam Rd. Ext., Charlton. A funeral Mass will follow the calling hours at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Life Care Center, 370 West Street, Leominster, MA 01453. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
