OXFORD/BRIMFIELD – Raymond J. Desy, 96, of St. George Road in Brimfield, died Wednesday, April 5, 2023, in his home. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Dawn V. (Barrett) Desy who died in 2017. He is survived by two sons, Mark O. Desy (Kimberly) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Steve B.J. Desy (Susan) of Brimfield; four grandsons, Bryce (Aemilia), Graydon, Louis, and Joseph Desy; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Raoul Desy, Owen Desy, and Francis “Mickey” Desy; and three sisters, Arlene Latour, Rita Marcotte, and Doris Nankervis. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Louis R. and Bertha (Gervais) Desy, and lived in Oxford before moving to Brimfield in 2006.
Mr. Desy was a mechanic for over 70 years at various companies, most recently working at New England Frozen Foods in Westborough for 10 years prior to retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Teamsters Union for over 40 years. He was a member of the Singletary Rod and Gun Club and the Knights of Columbus in Worcester. He loved hunting and enjoyed tinkering in his spare time.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at St. Christopher’s Church, 16 Sturbridge Rd., Brimfield. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday from 9:00-9:45 a.m. at St. Christopher’s Church prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at Brimfield Cemetery in Brimfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Christopher’s Restoration Fund, P.O. Box 387, Brimfield, MA 01010.
