Rene Gagnon

OXFORD - Rene R. Gagnon Jr., 67, a lifelong resident of Oxford, passed away suddenly on October 2, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 20, 1948, son of the late Rene and Therese (Rochefort) Gagnon Sr. He was predeceased by his sister, Joan Gagnon. He is survived by two daughters, Melanie and Danielle Gagnon, both of Auburn; his grandchild, Isabella Gagnon; his former wife and friend, Lynne Colonero of Auburn; his brothers, Ronald, Russell, Richard, and Randal; his sisters, Judy, Jackie, Julia, Joyce, Janine, and Jacinta; and many nephews, nieces, and friends in the community. Rene was a graduate of Oxford High School and served in the United States Navy. He was skilled in many trades and had a successful career at Bose Corporation for many years, where he was honored with several awards for outstanding job performance. For the past two years of retirement, Rene enjoyed spending time with his family. He was extremely close with his grandchild, Bella, and loved to attend her soccer games, school concerts, and help with her homework. Rene was a giving person who helped many neighbors as well as members of his church. He loved music, carpentry, and creating plans and blueprints for various projects that he worked on. Rene was a kind and gentle man who loved his family and opened his heart to all in times of need. Over the summer, he helped create a wonderful garden with his family which will supply peaceful memories for years to come. A calling hour will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015, from 10-11 a.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, following the calling hour.
