CHARLTON – Richard Leo Ginga, fondly known as Dick or Dickie, passed peacefully in his home on October 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 29, 1958, to Dolores LeClaire and Leo Ginga, Dick grew up in Worcester alongside his three sisters. After graduating from the University of Bridgeport with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, he began a lifelong career that reflected his curiosity, humor, and knack for problem-solving.
Outside of work, Dick’s greatest joy came from the simple things—spending time with his wife Etta, grandchildren and friends, camping at Sebago, bowling a few frames, golfing on summer mornings, and fishing in the backyard. He had a signature laugh, a large and welcoming heart, and a gift for making everyone feel loved.
Dick is survived by his son, Jake Ginga, and his wife, Annika Wynne; his stepdaughter, Mandy Griffin; his stepson, Dennis Griffin; and his cherished grandchildren, Micaela Anderson and her husband, Tyler, Seth Christenson, Brielle Christenson, and Lucas Christenson. He also leaves behind his beloved sisters, Marie Ginga, Elizabeth Ginga, and Donna Ginga and her wife, Alicia Stewart; his nieces, Maya and Corin; an incredible group of friends; and his cantankerous cat, Angel.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Etta Ginga, as well as his parents, Dolores and Leo.
Family and friends are invited to gather for calling hours on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 5–8 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Oxford Ecumenical Food Shelf, 4 Maple Rd., Oxford, MA 01540, a cause close to Dick and Etta’s hearts.
