OXFORD – Richard “Bones” Graves, 75, of Concord, New Hampshire, and formerly of Oxford, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Harris Hill Nursing Home in Concord. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Martha A. (Caplette) Graves; two daughters, Penny Vanderbeek and her husband Paul of Malvern, PA, and Kimberly Bevan and her husband Scott of Pleasanton, CA; his sister, Marcia Grady and her husband Stephen of Vernon, CT; four grandchildren, Brittany, Matthew, Benjamin, and Caroline; and several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law. He was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur G. Graves III and Paul J. Graves. He was born in Pawtucket, RI, son of the late Arthur G. and Alice D. (Kiernan) Graves Jr., and lived in Oxford before moving to Concord, NH, 45 years ago. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1960.
Mr. Graves was a truck driver his entire life, retiring in 2008 from Transgas in Chelmsford after working there for 5 years. He was a longtime member of the Teamsters. He was a member of Christ the King Parish in Concord, and played in the senior basketball league in Concord for 4 years.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016, at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date. Calling hours are Monday, January 25, 2016, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Roch’s Church, 334 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540, or to a charity of one’s choice.
