CHARLTON – Richard P. March, 84, of Partridge Hill Road, died Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Cynthia A. (Sinkavich) March of Charlton; four children, Donna M. O’Brien and her husband Sean of Putnam, CT, Cynthia M. Barnes and her husband Richard of Charlton, Debra A. March of Danielson, CT, and Joseph R. March and his wife Bridgid of Charlton; two brothers, Robert March and Bartholomew March; a sister, Eleanor Carmody; seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Matthew, Kerry, Kelli, Sarah, Julie, and Richard; five great-grandchildren, Kameron, Kaiden, Colin, Grace, and Maxwell; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Marion Racicot. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Bartholomew G. and Marion M. (Jurgelionis) March, and lived in Worcester before moving to Charlton in 1974.
Mr. March was a U.S. Navy veteran serving aboard the U.S.S. Manley D-940 from 1956-1958. He was a mechanical engineer for Morgan Construction in Worcester for over 30 years prior to retirement. He was a member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford and the Knights of Columbus Council in Southbridge. He was a gentleman farmer throughout his life, raising ducks, chickens, cattle and goats.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Those attending are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church. Burial with military honors will follow at West Ridge Cemetery in Charlton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester, MA 01606. Paradis-Giver Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
