Richard Ayres Marsan

OXFORD – Richard Ayres Marsan, 90, of Pine Ridge Drive, died Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Webster Manor Nursing Home in Webster.

He was predeceased by his wonderful wife of 52 years, Nancy A. (Vigliotti) Marsan who died in 2024. He is survived by two daughters, Michelle A. Faneuff and her husband Keith of Gardner, and Christine E. Marsan of Oxford; his sister Viola Marrier, of Webster; and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Marsan-Tobey and Joann Hebert; and his beloved grandson, Ryan Marsan who died in 2022.

Richard was born in Palmer, son of the late Adelard and Winifred Blanche (Ayres) Marsan, and lived in Webster before moving to Oxford in 1974. He graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster in 1954. After high school, he attended two trade schools where he learned the trade of machine building.

Richard worked at Key Filters in Woonsocket, RI, for 17 years, retiring in 2010. He was a registered mechanic who did automotive work throughout his life, and worked at Market Basket in Oxford for 11 years, during retirement. Throughout his career of machine building, he also worked at Heald Machine, Warner & Swasey, Morgan Construction, Hobbs Manufacturing, and Berlin Corporation. He attended the Oxford United Methodist Church in Oxford.

Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He loved watching the Yankees and the Giants, his favorite teams. Richard had very strong faith. He was active in the Webster Manor community where he made several friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
