OXFORD – Rita (Gaudere) Noel, 80, formerly of Newton Avenue, died Friday, March 30, 2007, at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Arthur E. Noel of Oxford, who died in 1980. She is survived by three children, Patricia A. Naples of Worcester, Ronald A. Noel of Worcester, and David E. Noel and his wife Donna of Charlton; a brother, Francis Gaudere of Millbury; a sister, Shirley Sfakianos of Millbury; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Bouvier of Sutton. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Wilfred and Marie (Plouffe) Gaudere, and lived in Sutton, Millbury, and most of her life in Oxford. Mrs. Noel owned and operated Rita's Forest Diner in Auburn for 10 years, retiring in 1973. Previously, she was a nurse's aide at Worcester State Hospital in Worcester. A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2007, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Sunday, April 1, 2007, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Healthcare Center Alzheimer's Unit, 5th Floor, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609-1120 or to the Jewish Hospice, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609-1120.
