OXFORD – Robert J. Fields, 48, of Whiting Road, died suddenly on Saturday, January 19, 2008, in his home. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Toni M. (Armendo) Fields of Oxford; four children, Adam C. Fields and Ashley E. Fields, both of Oxford, Lori Edstrom of Charlton, and Michael J. Fields of Chelmsford; a step-daughter, Jessica J. Rutter of Oxford; his parents, Richey C. and Frances M. (Marrone) Fields of Oxford; two brothers, John W. Fields of Oxford and Daniel P. Fields of Charlton; three sisters, Nancy M. Guertin of Knoxville, TN, Susan J. Peltier of Sutton, and Janet A. Fields of Falmouth; eight grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. He was born in Meriden, CT, and lived in Connecticut and Illinois before moving to Oxford 30 years ago. He graduated from Vienna High School in Vienna, IL, in 1977. Mr. Fields was a self-employed contractor associated with J & P Trucking in Sutton for many years. Previously, he worked at B.N.T. Concrete in Millbury. He was a former member of St. Ann's Church in North Oxford and a member of the Teamsters Local 170 in Worcester. He was an avid outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2008, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will be at a later date at North Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Tuesday, January 22, 2008, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Scholarship Fund for the Children of Robert J. Fields, c/o Hometown Bank, 31 Sutton Ave., Oxford, MA 01540.
