OXFORD – Roger E. Lamoureux, 73, of Wheelock Street, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester.  He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jeannette I. (Plaza) Lamoureux; his daughter, Monique Angel Lamoureux of Rutland; three sisters, Lorraine Lamoureux of Webster, Lisette Ford of Oxford, and Lavena Shenette and her husband Brian of Oxford; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Randy Lamoureux who died in 2013, and Raymond Lamoureux who died in 2004.  He was born in Worcester, son of the late Joseph E. and Claire M. (Gauvin) Lamoureux, and lived in Webster before moving to Oxford five years ago.  He graduated from Oxford High School in 1968.

Mr. Lamoureux was a diesel mechanic at Day Brothers Trucking in Auburn for 38 years.  Later, he worked for Thibeault Trucking in Worcester for 10 years.  He loved nature and enjoyed camping, fishing, and feeding the birds.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

A private funeral Mass will be held at St. Roch’s Church in Oxford.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
