SOUTHBRIDGE – Roland H. Lafleche, 78, of Village Drive, died Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer, after a long illness.  He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Lenora L. (Daigle) Lafleche of Southbridge; four children, Arthur W. Lafleche of Rochdale, Melessa A. Lafleche of Southbridge, Hallet T. Merrick and his wife Candice of Millbury, and Brenda J. Trifone of Millbury; seventeen grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.  He was predeceased by three siblings.  He was born in Pawtucket, RI, son of the late Ernest A. and Alida (Paquin) LaFlash, and lived most of his life in Southbridge.

Mr. Lafleche was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.  He also served in the Army National Guard of California as a guided missile mechanical repairer.  He worked many jobs throughout his life, most recently as a logger with his son Arthur.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 24.  Mr. Lafleche enjoyed race cars, playing cards, watching old movies, and had a passion for art.  He loved going fishing on charter boats.  He will be remembered as a humble, kind man who was loved my many and known to everyone as “Dad.”

Memorial calling hours are Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 2-4 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.  Family remembrances and military honors will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.  Burial will be private at a later date at Central Cemetery in Millbury.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Veteran's Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
