PLAISANCE / KASIERSKI

WEBSTER – Rolande Claire Lucienne LaVigne Plaisance Kasierski, the Grande Dame of the LaVignes at 101 years was called to Jesus on January 28, 2023. Rolande is dancing in heaven with departed sisters Simone Tellier (Ray), Grace Quinn (Jim), Edna Fijal (Joe), Violette Hyland (Don), Jeanne Sikorski (Steve), and Irene Piechowski (John); and brothers Roland and Leo LaVigne (Marie); and her beloved, adoring husband, Michael Kasierski.  She is survived by a brother, Donald LaVigne (Annette) of Enfield, CT.

She was the loving daughter of the late Lucien and Yvonne Bergeron LaVigne.  Devoted mother of Ronald Plaisance (Susan Derryberry) of East Otis, Richard Plaisance of Webster, Robert Plaisance (Kathy) of Southport, NC, and Michelle Plaisance (Peter Franklin) of Newburyport; grandmother of Ryanne Plaisance (Paul Conway) of Los Angeles, CA, Mathieu Plaisance (Chelsea) of Ft. Myers, FL; great grandmother of Kyah, Kat, Tiffany, Alyssia, Mak, and too many nieces and nephews to count.

Known as Ronnie, Aunt Ronnie, Memere, or Mom, faith and family was everything to her.  Ronnie’s life was in service to both.  She always had time, a smile, and a cookie for all.

Born in Manchester, NH, Ronnie moved to Simsbury, CT as a teen and raised her family in Longmeadow, MA.  Forever a fashion plate, Ronnie was the longtime manager of the Bridal Shop and French Room at Steiger’s in Springfield.  After leaving Longmeadow, she managed various clothing stores with aplomb.

She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish and a scheduled adorer at the Adoration Chapel.  A lifelong dancer, Ronnie learned the Charleston, Lindy Hop, and Jitterbug on tables as a 3-year old from her Memere Toni and aunts in the 20’s; she danced to swing bands in the late 30’s and 40’s.  She then met Mike ballroom dancing in the 70’s.  Her Webster years were spent as a proud hoofer with the Silver Slippers.

Our deepest gratitude for the wondrous care from the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in her last days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, 10 Judith Rd., Worcester, MA 01605.  A service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
