CHARLTON – Ronald S. Rivett, 48, of Osgood Road, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge. He is survived by four siblings, Maryjane Daoust and her husband Donald of Charlton, Dennis P. Rivett Jr. of Southbridge, Robert F. Rivett and his wife Lisa of Charlton, and Sharon A. Racki and her husband Robert of Southbridge; his longtime friends, Bud Harris and his wife Crissy of Charlton; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by a brother, William J. Rivett who died in 2007. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Dennis P. and Isabelle F. (Despin) Rivett, Sr., and lived most of his life in Charlton.
Mr. Rivett worked for R.H. White Construction in Auburn for 25 years. He was a firefighter for the Charlton Fire Department for 25 years, and was a member of the fire department honor guard. He was devoted to teaching new fire department members how to operate the trucks. Ronald was a life member of the N.R.A. and enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time in Northern Maine.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 19, 2021, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at Old Howard Cemetery in Sutton. Calling hours are Sunday, April 18, 2021, from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Charlton Fire Department, P.O. Box 114, Charlton City, MA 01508.
