OXFORD – Ruth A. (LaMountain) Bond, 97, of Pine Street, died Tuesday, July 25, 2023, in her home. She was predeceased by her husband, Willis S. Bond Sr. who died in 1977.
She is survived by two sons, Willis S. Bond Jr. and his wife Susan of Charlton, and Donald E. Bond and his wife Sandra of Greenville, SC; a brother, Peter LaMountain of Charlton; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Rita Howard and Louise Hargis.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Arthur and Minnie (Vautour) LaMountain, and lived in North Oxford before moving to Oxford in 1971.
Mrs. Bond was a crossing guard for Oxford Public Schools for 24 years, retiring in 2012. She also enjoyed working in the daycare at the schools.
The family would like to thank her many friends who were part of her life and supported her throughout the years, especially the girls at Curves, her coffee friends at McDonalds, and her friends at the school.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 31, 2023, at St. Ann’s Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Those attending are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann’s Church, P.O. Box 488, North Oxford, MA 01537, or to the VNA Care Hospice, 100 Trade Center, Suite G-500, Woburn, MA 01801.
