OXFORD – Ryan A. Jones, 43, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at home. He is survived by his mother, Patricia E. Jones of Oxford; two brothers, Garrett E. Jones and his wife Christy of Oxford, and Patrick J. Jones of Oxford; two sisters, Maureen E. Jones of Charlton and Lyndsay P. Jones of Spencer; his cousin, Ian Griffin of Dudley; six nephews, Gavin, Gage, Branden, and Stephen Jones, and Nathan and Jacob Whittemore; his longtime friend, Amy Morrison and her son Devon of Thompson, CT; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Franklyn J. Jones, and lived most of his life in Oxford. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1995.
Ryan was an auto mechanic in the Oxford area for many years. He was well-known by his nickname “Scrawny” and had a special fondness for animals. He was a fun-loving uncle who loved spending time with his nephews and playing video games with them. Ryan enjoyed playing the guitar and will be remembered as a sweet, gentle person who was always willing to help others. He had many friends and family members who loved him very much, and he will be greatly missed.
A funeral will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date at North Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Friday, December 18, 2020, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to On-Site Academy, P.O. Box 448, Westminster, MA 01473.
