CHARLTON – Stanley John Horanzy Jr., 87, of Lincoln Point Road, died Saturday, October 11, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.
He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Ruth A. (Moore) Horanzy of Charlton; and a sister, Elizabeth Mendreck. He is survived by four children, Stacy J. Bankowski and her husband Walter of Charlton, Elizabeth E. Rivernider and her husband Todd of Webster, Scott E. Horanzy and his husband Karl Cole of Worcester, and Stanley J. Horanzy and his wife Kimberly of Auburn; two sisters, Christine Ross of Florida, and Eleanor Horanzy of Webster; a brother, Anthony Horanzy of Webster; seven grandchildren, Kylie Bankowski, Zachary Bankowski and his fiancée Melissa Lees, Amanda Rivernider, Brandon Rivernider, Shawn Horanzy, Samantha Horanzy, and Sydney Horanzy; a great-grandson, Keagan Horanzy; and a close family friend, Michelle Trio.
He was born in Webster, son of the late Stanley J. and Eva (Kapitulik) Horanzy Sr., and lived in Webster and Oxford before moving to Charlton in 2023. He graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1956-1959.
Mr. Horanzy worked for the parks department at Douglas State Forest for several years prior to retirement. He enjoyed playing softball and fishing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and especially loved reading to them.
Memorial calling hours are Friday, October 24, 2025, from 5-8 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Mount Zion Cemetery in Webster.
