NORTH OXFORD – Stephen F. DiBonaventura, Jr., 57, of Pleasant Street and formerly of School Street in Webster, died Sunday, July 23, 2023, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester, after a long illness. He is survived by a brother, Edward J. Morse and his wife Cindy of Kentucky; two sisters, Susan A. Reardon of Oxford, and Tammie A. Weaver and her husband Dutch of North Oxford; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his longtime companion of 19 years, Elizabeth Dunn who died earlier this year; two brothers, Russell E. Morse Jr. and Scott S. Benkowski; two sisters, Linda Ann Morse and Deborah L. Peterson; and his dog, Rocky. He was born in Webster, son of the late Stephen F. and Mary Agnes (Shaw) DiBonaventura Sr., and lived most of his life in Webster and Oxford.
Mr. DiBonaventura worked as a roofer, paver, and general handyman throughout his life. In addition, he worked at Johnson Corrugated in Thompson, CT, for several years. He enjoyed playing sports in his younger years. He was New England Patriots fan and enjoyed playing cards.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A calling hour will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation, 188 Needham St., Suite 240, Newton, MA 02464.
