NORTH OXFORD – Stephen A. Gordon, 62, of Merriam District, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Debbie A. (Morin) Gordon of North Oxford; six children, Sydney A. Taraskiewicz, Dany L. Gordon, Jon H. Gordon, Martha J. Morin, A.J. Morin, and Beowulf B. Morin, all of North Oxford; a brother, Christopher R. Gordon and his wife Kim of Oxford; a sister, Cynthia B. Chandler of Princeton; his father-in-law, David E. Morin of North Oxford; several nieces and nephews; and his three lifelong best friends, the “3 Steve’s” Briggs, Proffer, and Zeveska. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Arthur M. and Doris J. (Vanderhoof) Gordon, and lived most of his life in Oxford. He graduated from Bay Path R.V.T. High School in Charlton in 1977.
Steve was a construction superintendent for J.R. Vinagro Construction in Johnston, RI. Previously, he worked for W.L. French, Charter, and LaMountain Brothers, among several other companies throughout his career. He was a member of St. Ann’s Church in North Oxford and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 4 Union. Steve was a NASCAR fanatic and will be remembered as a jack-of-all-trades who could fix anything.
A funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
