Oxford

OXFORD - Stephen Edward Pizzetti, 72, died on Friday, January 26th, 2024, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Miller Pizzetti, as well as many dear friends, neighbors, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Steve was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, the only child of the late Edward and Dorothy (Caplette) Pizzetti. He graduated from Oxford High School and attended the Rhode Island School of Design and the Academy of Art College in San Francisco, California. He met his wife, Stephanie, while living in the San Francisco Bay Area and they were married in April of 1984. Both continued to live in the area for many years. Later, he moved with Stephanie to Fairfield, Connecticut. Eventually, they settled in Oxford in 1993.

In his professional life he was a toy designer working with Aviva Enterprises, Coleco, Hasbro, Mattel, Lucasfilm and Amblin’ Entertainment: just a few of the companies to which he contributed his considerable creative talent.

In later life, Steve left his work at CVS Pharmacy in Oxford to become a full-time caregiver for his parents. In this vocation, he was dedicated, intuitive, patient and kind.

Steve cultivated a large swath of friends over the years and spoke of them often and fondly.

He loved movies, appreciated all art and was a fantastic cook and host. He was a Scrabble and Jeopardy enthusiast and master. Every holiday throughout the year brought him great joy and he loved nothing more than to create elaborate decorations along with Stephanie to share them with friends and family.

He loved animals and they loved him. Many beloved pets will be there to greet him at the Rainbow Bridge.

Stephanie was proud to have shared their life of 46 years with the most caring, funny, smart person she ever knew. Nothing she could write would ever do him justice. Her life will never be the same.

Thank you to the doctors and nurses involved in his care and for the support from friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be announced in future.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Cat Connection, 289 Thompson Rd., Webster, MA 01570, or to the Oxford Animal Shelter, 325 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540.
