OXFORD – Thomas J. Valentinetti, 92, of Forest Street, died Saturday, November 3, 2007, in his home. He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Harriet G. (Davis) Valentinetti of Oxford, who died in 1993. He is survived by two children, John T. Valentinetti and his wife Traci of Stephens City, VA, and Jane E. Stafford and her husband Jeffrey of North Oxford; three granddaughters, Jillian Stafford, Carmella Valentinetti, and Gabriella Valentinetti; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by three brothers, Alfred Valentinetti, James Valentinetti, and Joseph Valentinetti; and two sisters, Mary Dellana and Anne Hooke. He was born in Webster, the son of the late Anthony and Jennie (D'Allessandro) Valentinetti, and lived in Webster and Colorado before moving to Oxford over 50 years ago. He graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster in 1934 and the University of Missouri in 1949. Mr. Valentinetti was a U.S. History teacher at Oxford High School for over 30 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he was stationed in the Pacific. A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Military burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford, with the Oxford Memorial Honor Guard participating. Calling hours are Tuesday, November 6, 2007, from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UMass Memorial Hospice, 650 Lincoln St., Worcester, MA 01605.
