OXFORD - Victor J. LaPrade, Jr., of Oxford, passed away peacefully on June 8, surrounded by the love of his family, just one day after celebrating his 95th birthday. Born on June 7, 1931, in Worcester, Victor lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to family, hard work, service to his country, and kindness toward others.

Family was the center of Victor’s world. A proud veteran, he served as a paratrooper during the Korean War and often shared stories of his experiences, preserving memories of a remarkable chapter in his life. Following his military service, Victor built a successful career as a journeyman carpenter, taking great pride in his craftsmanship and the lasting work of his hands.

Victor found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time outdoors, tending to his yard, operating his equipment, and helping friends, neighbors, and family whenever they needed a hand. His generosity, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

In his later years, Victor enjoyed relaxing with his favorite television programs and YouTube videos, often accompanied by a collection of beloved treats. His curiosity, sense of humor, and appreciation for life's small comforts remained with him throughout his years.

Victor shared a beautiful love story with his wife, Helen LaPrade, who preceded him in death on July 5, 2023, after 68 years of marriage. Their partnership was an inspiration to their family and all who knew them.

He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his daughter, Karen Linenkemper and her fiancé, Scott Mellen; his sons, Kevin LaPrade and his wife, Debra, and Bruce LaPrade and his wife, Lisa. He was a proud grandfather to Nicholas, Erica, Sarah, Danielle, Matthew, Marc, and Dylan, and a treasured great-grandfather to nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and his brother, David Seymour. Victor was preceded in death by four siblings and stepbrothers.

Victor’s legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply the values he instilled, and the countless lives he touched. He will be remembered for his strength, dedication, warm heart, and unwavering love for those around him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to bring comfort, laughter, and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Services will be held privately. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
