Viola Goddard

North Oxford - Viola T. (Bielewicz) Goddard, 90, of 10 Mary Scano Drive, Worcester, formerly of Southbridge Road, North Oxford, died Saturday, May 5, 2007, at the Christopher House in Worcester after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer's. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Charles H. Goddard of North Oxford, who died in 2003. She is survived by 3 children, Kathleen A. Gallagher and her husband Joseph of East Dennis, Brent A. Goddard and his wife Jayne of Dudley, and Mark K. Goddard and his wife Lucille of Kernersville, NC; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 3 children; Brian Goddard of North Oxford who died in1980; Charles B. Goddard of Charlton who died in 1993 and Barbara J. Goddard of Sturbridge who died in 2000. Mrs. Goddard was born in Webster, the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Murzynowicz) Bielewicz, and lived most of her life in North Oxford before moving to Worcester 6 years ago. She had also spent some time in Webster, Oxford and New Hampshire. She was a long time member of St. Ann's Church in North Oxford. Viola Goddard was many things to many people, and she wore her many hats with ease. She always spoke her mind, always was good for an adventure, and sang and danced wherever she chose. She was funny and flamboyant, bold and brazen. In short, she was the kind of person we wish we could dare to be. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2007, in St. Ann's Church, 652 Main Street, North Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Garden of Peace in Webster. A calling hour will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2007, 9:30a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oxford .In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Christopher House, c/o Putnam Unit Activity Fund, 10 Mary Scano Drive, Worcester, MA 01605.
