SUTTON/OXFORD – Wayne “Curly” F. Demers, 64, of Charlton, and formerly of Oxford and Sutton, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in his home after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Susan M. (Nestor) Demers of Charlton; four children, Alison E. O’Neill and her partner Benjamin Cormier of Charlton, Nicholas P. Demers of Oxford, Nathan F. Demers and his fiancée Jessica Gilmore of Sturbridge, and Patrick W. Demers of Charlton; two grandchildren, Brady P. O’Neill and Aubrey E. O’Neill, both of Charlton; two brothers, Kevin Demers and his wife April of Douglas, and Jeffrey Demers and his wife Jana of Dudley; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Jack O’Neill; and his mother’s long-term partner, Harold “Biz” Konkol.
He was born in Northbridge, son of the late Adelard G. and Joyce A. (Guertin) Demers. He was raised in Sutton and lived in Oxford before retiring to Charlton.
Curly worked at Aggregate Industries in Shrewsbury for over 30 years, retiring in 2018. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 170 in Worcester. In retirement, Curly was a sought-after stone mason who built walls throughout Massachusetts. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, antiquing, farm animals and farm equipment. He liked tractors, cars, and anything with a motor. He will be remembered as a hard-working man who liked to have fun, and who valued family above everything.
Memorial calling hours are Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A prayer service will be held on Saturday at the conclusion of calling hours.
