WEBSTER – Wayne H. Gordon, 61, of School St., died suddenly on Wednesday, December 26, 2007, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus, Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Susan E. (Dimock) Gordon of Webster; three children, Donald W. Gordon of Oxford, Laura L Horanzy of Webster, and Christy L. Brooks of Dudley; a brother, Earl D. Gordon of Worcester; four grandchildren, Shawn Horanzy, Samantha Horanzy, Talia Brooks, and Neil Brooks; and several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Earl D. and Loraine L. (Lawrence) Gordon, and lived in Oxford before moving to Webster 30 years ago. He graduated from Oxford High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, receiving the Purple Heart Medal. Mr. Gordon was an auto mechanic at Clapham Transmission in Auburn many years ago. He was an avid C.B. operator and still enjoyed working on his classic cars even after becoming blind. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2008, at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Massachusetts Association for the Blind, 200 Ivy St., Brookline, MA 02446.
