OXFORD – Wendie A. (Walker) Germain, 68, of Main Street, died Thursday, November 23, 2017, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus in Worcester, after a short battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 2 years, Donald R. Germain of Oxford; two sons, Mark D. Darby and his wife Jamie of Nebraska, and Joel D. Darby of Sutton; her stepfather, Bernard Brabant of Dudley; her brother, Wayne Taulzetti of Florida; her sister, Cheryl Gonyea and her husband Gary of Webster; 13 grandchildren; several cousins including Suzie Smichinski of Webster; and many nephews and nieces. She was born in Webster, daughter of the late Francis E. Walker and Claire M. (Dandurand) Brabant, and lived in Webster, Dudley, and Oxford throughout her life. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1967 and received her associate’s degree from Becker College.

Mrs. Germain was a pharmacy technician at Hahnemann Medical Center in Worcester for many years, retiring in 1998. She enjoyed quilting, making jewelry, and traveling. She was known to all her nieces as “Auntie.” (Just Auntie)

A funeral will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Wednesday, November 29, 2017, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wendie Germain Memorial Fund, c/o Santander Bank, 335 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540.
