WEBSTER – William L. Chapdelaine, Sr., 85, of Snow Street, died peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sandra E. (Stevens) Chapdelaine of Webster; five sons, William L. Chapdelaine Jr. and his wife Lisa of Auburn, Michael A. Chapdelaine and his companion Rachel Wells of Webster, David C. Chapdelaine and his wife Tammy of Thompson, CT, Daniel R. Chapdelaine of Akron, OH, and Paul A. Chapdelaine of Painesville, OH; two sisters, Kathy Sanchas and her husband Albert of Killingly, CT, and Dorothy Morell of Webster; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Ernest Chapdelaine.
Mr. Chapdelaine was born in Webster, son of the late Leo and Florence (Newman) Chapdelaine, and was a lifelong resident of Webster. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1957, and proudly served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Chapdelaine worked for Gibbs Brothers Inc. in Webster for many years, retiring as regional manager. He was a member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford. He loved classic cars, and especially enjoyed driving his 1964 Ford Galaxy on car cruises. He collected comic books and antiques, and enjoyed strumming the guitar. He was a wonderful family man and loved his wife more than anything.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at North Cemetery in Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Veteran's Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
