OXFORD – Willy Gerard VanBeekom, 95, of French River Circle, died Thursday, January 22, 2026, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus in Worcester.

He was predeceased by his wife, Veronique (Krajenbrink) VanBeekom, who died in 1999. He is survived by three children, Rene VanBeekom and his wife Debbie of Oxford, Leslie Brooks and her husband David of Windham, ME, and Randy VanBeekom and his wife Nancy of Shrewsbury; eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

He was born in Bandung, Java, Indonesia, son of the late Anton and Berendima (Emke) VanBeekom, and lived in Northboro before moving to Oxford ten years ago. He was born one of 13 children in Indonesia and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1960. Most of his siblings immigrated to the United States, and only one of the thirteen children survives.

Mr. VanBeekom worked at Crown Chevy, Glick Nissan, and Goodyear as a mechanic, and later in his career as a service writer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Marlboro. He enjoyed playing Keno and watching game shows on television, especially Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud. He was a skilled wood worker and built many wood projects including birdhouses. He was a friend to many and could make new friends wherever he went. His family meant everything to him. He was always there for them, and enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Calling hours are Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 1-4 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date at Howard Street Cemetery in Northboro. Flowers may be sent or donations may be made to the American Legion, 227 Main Street, Oxford, MA 01540.
