Rochdale

ROCHDALE – Darlene M. (Cote) Chase, 62, of Wells Street, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021, with her loving husband and brother by her side. She passed peacefully after her short fight against COVID-19. Darlene leaves behind her devoted husband of 30 years Scott W. Chase of Rochdale; daughter Kimberly Patterson and son-in-law Michael Patterson of Dudley, daughter Angela Fongeallaz LeBel of King George, VA; seven grandchildren, Beau and Macy Fongeallaz, Kailey and Noel LeBel, Max, Aden and Mark Patterson. She leaves behind her loving mother Dolores A. (Palmieri) Cote of Cherry Valley; brother Edward F. Cote, Jr of Leicester; two step-children, Amanda Chase of Dudley and Johnathan Chase and his wife Kerri of North Grosvenordale; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; including her best friend of 37 years Theresa Labonte of North Grosvenordale, CT; and her goddaughters Lindsay Labonte of North Grosvenordale, CT; and Michelle (Cote) Welton of Leominster. She has been reunited with her father Edward F. Cote, Sr, and many beloved aunts and uncles in heaven.

Darlene spent her last fifteen years as a devoted and loving housewife. She created a loving home, welcome to all. She was often found caring for her seven grandchildren. Before that she worked as a legal secretary in Webster. She spent a short time as a bank teller and before that helped run her uncle’s video store, “One Stop Video” in Oxford. Darlene will always be remembered for her cheerful personality, her ability to talk to all people around her, and to make everyone feel like family!

Darlene lived for her family. She loved her husband, daughters, son-in-law, and her grandchildren more than words could describe. In true Italian form, her home was open to everyone. Cooking and preparing food was a passion of hers, making everything “with love”.
