Northborough

NORTHBOROUGH - Kim Cormier, formerly of Northborough, departed this world on Thursday, December 24th after giving everything she had to battle pancreatic cancer. She leaves behind her husband, Derek Cormier; her beloved pets, her mother, Marie Jacobs of Oxford, her older brother, Michael Fulginiti of Westborough, her younger sister, Amy Finkel and her husband Alan of Oxford, her mother-in-law, Priscilla Clark of Yarmouth, her sister-in-law Christel Clark of Yarmouth; one nephew and three nieces. She also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and co-workers that loved her dearly. She was predeceased by her father, Paul Jacobs, of Shrewsbury, who died in 1995.

Kim worked for BERG, a biotechnology company in Framingham for a little over two years as a Paralegal. Previously, she had worked at Raytheon in Marlborough. She truly loved to help people. She took pride in her work. She was awarded Woman of the Year in 2012 to 2013 from the National Association of Professional Women. She also graduated with honors, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies from Kaplan University in October of 2014. Kim was determined and was proud of her accomplishments.

Kim was born in Worcester and grew up in Shrewsbury. When she was older, she moved to Worcester and other areas. Kim took pride in taking care of her family. She loved her animals and thought of them as her babies. She enjoyed spoiling them. She also loved to shop, go out to eat, do crafts, bowl, garden, and go to New York City whenever she got the chance. She loved fashion and anything that sparkled or had glitter. She loved comedies and anything that would make her laugh. She loved going on adventures, including wrestling shows and events, concerts, casinos, shows, and traveling. She never turned down an opportunity to just go out and have fun. Kim also loved her family and friends. She loved life and tried her best to make the most of it.

Kim fought long and hard to battle this disease, and she often told doctors to quit with the sappy talk because she wasn't dying yet. She had an ass to kick and that was cancer. She refused to take no for an answer and she kept fighting until the end. That is how she would like to be remembered...as a fighter. She kept going when people didn't believe in her. She said to her nephew and nieces that sometimes you just have to keep fighting. So don't give up. And, that was Kim.

Services will be held at a later date. If anyone would like to make a donation in memory of Kim, her charities of choice were the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St., Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701, or the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street Worcester MA, 01606.  Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
