Leonard Millette

DUDLEY - Leonard U. Millette, 78, passed February 10, 2021, in Independence, Kentucky.  He is survived by his wife of 51 years Jacqueline (Beauregard) Millette; his three daughters Danielle Filo of Hickory NC, Nicole Moss of Firth Nebraska, and Lenore Millette of Independence, KY; two brothers Peter and Philip Millette both of Charlton, MA; a sister Suzanne Niddrie of Cherry Valley, MA; sons-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Ulric and Anita Millette; and a grandson, Tanner Daniel Moss.

Len lived in Cherry Valley, Dudley, and Charlton, MA. He then moved on to Arizona and lived on a Navaho Indian reservation where his wife worked for 3 years.

Len was a devout family man along with his wife. He cared deeply about family. Jacqueline and Len traveled to spend as much time as he could with his daughters’ families and his grandchildren in Kentucky, North Carolina, and Nebraska.

Len graduated from Leicester High School and then attended Worcester Industrial Technical Institute. He majored in Welding and Automotive. He was extremely talented mechanically. After graduation he worked at Eddy Automotive in Leicester, he loved welding and automotive during that time he partnered building a 33 Willies A-gas drag strip vehicle from the frame up with Mickey Mouse painted on the front, which raced very well at the New England Drag strip circuit. He was also universally known around town because of his 1966 Nassau blue Chevy Corvette. After moving on from Eddy Automotive, he owned and operated General Automotive until his retirement. He then moved to Arizona for 3 years on the Navaho Reservation.

Len was very active with the Dudley Lions Club since 1992. In that time participated in many Lion’s Club functions for the community. One of the functions he thoroughly enjoyed was the annual Lions Club Auto Show which he helped organize. They were also fortunate to have the opportunity to volunteer and sponsored nine exchange students thru the Lions Club from multiple countries.

Len was always fun to be with because he enjoyed being with people.  He was a father and big-brother figure to many more people than just his children. Many cousins and he sure had plenty always looked up to him and respected him for the example he set and the fun you had being around him. Len was also known to all the younger cousins and grandchildren as Donald Duck. If you covered your eyes when he spoke you would swear Donald Duck was right there in front of you, yes just one of his many talents making children and people smile. He loved to entertain and make the children laugh, you could see he got as much enjoyment making people happy and smiling.

His humor, company and friendship will be sorely missed by all who were lucky enough to have the pleasure of knowing him.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 11, 2021, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road, Dudley.  Burial will be private at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Center for Narcolepsy, Sleep, and Health Research, College of Nursing, Suite 215, 845 S. Damen Ave. (MC 802), Chicago, IL 60612.  Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
