Maria Nobrega

DAYVILLE, CT – Maria F.E. (Dudley) Nobrega, 32, of Glen Rain Road, died doing her favorite thing, camping with one of her closest friends in the beauty of nature, on Wednesday, June 2, 2021.  She is survived by her father, Timothy James Dudley of England; her mother, Nicola Halsall of England; her sister, Amy E.N. Tsatsaronis of Westboro; her stepson, Christian Consiglio of Oxford; her stepfather, Sofoklis Tsatsaronis and his wife Courtney of Westboro; twin nephews, Alexander and Oliver Dudley; her God daughter, Luna Rose Reed of Westminster; friends who were like sisters to her, Robyn R. Trocco and her husband Peter of Westminster, Morgan Reed of Westminster, Nathan Reed of East Brookfield and Corinna Bailey-Nelson; her donor, Royce Lippert and his family who blessed us with another 9 years to make memories, her extended work family, her dogs Dexter and Thea; her heart horse Tajara, and her rabbit Jigglypuff.  She was predeceased by her brother, Philip A.T. Dudley who died in 2018.  She was born in Exeter, England, and lived most of her life in Worcester County Massachusetts before moving to Dayville two years ago.  She graduated from David Prouty High School in Spencer in 2007.

Maria worked at the Susan Wayne Center, JRI, for 8 years.  She started as a residential counselor and most recently worked in the human resources department.  Maria’s passion was dedicated to serving the children who needed help.  She wanted to make people’s lives better and she was committed to making sure that those around her felt cared for and valued.  She shared her smile, her spirit, and even her dog, Thea, with the youth at the program.  She was a person who was constantly giving to others in ways that were far beyond material objects.  She gave the kids and staff she worked with true joy.

Maria was a member of the Arabian Horse Association and loved her time spent with horses.  Above all, she loved the outdoors and nature, especially camping, walking, and kayaking.  She was very artistic and created beautiful works of art. Maria enjoyed traveling and always remembered her trip to Portugal.

A celebration of Maria’s life will be held on July 9, 2021, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Roseland Park in Woodstock CT.  Remembrances by family and friends will be shared at 5 p.m. Refreshments will be provided preceding the remembrance. A beautiful wildflower reflection garden is located just across the street from the park and will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for anyone who would like to take a quiet moment to reflect on the gift of Maria’s presence in their life.
