Norma Henault

April 30, 1931 — June 8, 2021

Webster

WEBSTER - Norma (Most) Henault, 90, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. An exceptional mother, grandmother, and friend, Norma was greatly admired for her warmth, sense of humor, strength, stamina, and generosity of spirit. She had the innate qualities of accepting people just as they are, and loving and forgiving easily. There was always room for one more at her table and in her heart.

After a long career as a CNA, bringing joy and understanding to residents at Oakwood Nursing Home, Norma began a new career at 78 years young in the peer support community where she worked supportively at the Kiva Center in Worcester and every Thursday at the Book Lovers Gourmet in Webster, MA. Norma was everyone's grandmother at the Kiva Centers and loved (and was loved) by all staff and community members. She was also like a mother to many in her younger years and never turned away an opportunity to help someone. She leaves a gaping hole in our hearts and community.

Born in 1931, Norma grew up in West Springfield and Agawam as the daughter of Clarence and Winnifred Most. Norma’s greatest loves of her life, and greatest accomplishment, were her children. Grieving her loss, she leaves her beloved daughter and caretaker, Brenda Vezina-Jodaitis, and her husband George of Woodstock, CT, where she often resided. She leaves behind her “girl,” Lindsey Vezina, a granddaughter who lovingly assisted in her care and with whom she had a special bond. She also leaves her granddaughter Darlene Kelly who always made her laugh. Norma is survived by her precious son, Albert Vezina, his wife Sandy of Dudley, MA, and their daughter Autumn Rose who was also special to her, and their two other daughters, Kate and Alyssa; her loving daughter, Denise Morton, her husband Bill of West Springfield and their three children, Austin, Shawn, and Brad Aubin whom she was proud of; her eldest daughter Sandra Simino, and her husband, Mark, of New Hampshire; and her brother, Peter Most, of Holyoke, MA. She also leaves a son in law Richard Bigelow of New Hampshire. Norma was predeceased by three children, Dianne Bigelow of New Hampshire; Joyce Vezina of Dudley, MA; and Brian Vezina of West Springfield, MA; and a granddaughter that she raised, Renee Thibeault of West Springfield, MA. Norma had 11 more grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren whom she deeply loved. Norma is also survived by her honorary granddaughter, Jasmine Quinones, who assisted in her caretaking. She also had a special place in her heart for caretaker Kelly Fitton.

Norma was predeceased by her siblings, Clarence, Lorraine, and Pauline, and best friend Vallorie Sharpe. She was loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and caretakers. At the time of Norma’s passing, she was married to Joseph Henault of Webster, MA, and spoke of him to many.

In her youth, Norma aspired to be a millinery. She was an avid reader of mystery novels, taking after her mother and loved pink roses and gladiolus, taking after her father. She was a trendsetter and fashion icon who loved pets. She always had a cat or dog and in the past few years depended on her grand dogs to throw a ball with, especially Henry and Alice. She also loved a good laugh, a juicy story, dancing, chocolate, pizza, the Big E, Red Sox, Patriots, music (especially Willie Nelson and Frank Sinatra), and life itself.

Norma’s spirit will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. To honor her life, calling hours will be held at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, on Saturday, July 17, 2021, from 2 to 4 pm. A prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. at the conclusion of calling hours. Interment will be private in Agawam, MA in the fall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Kiva Center in Worcester, MA, or St. Jude's Children’s Hospital.
