OXFORD –At the turn of the tides, Peter DePierri journeyed to his heavenly home on April 28, 2022.  Born to Peter and Ann (Appice) DePierri, Sr. on March 27, 1951, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Peter grew up in Colonia, New Jersey.  He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Joann Dorris and her husband Rick.

Peter is survived by his wife Judy Hodgerney of nineteen years.  He leaves three sons, Peter and his wife Rosie of South Lake Tahoe, California, Dennis and his wife Stephanie of Charlton, and Matthew and his fiancée Leanne Free of Denver, Colorado.  Those who brought him special joy were his grandchildren, Gabe, Miah, Enzo, and Camila.  He is also survived by his in-laws James and Linda Merriam, their adult children Carrie LeBlanc and husband Jamie, and Joshua Merriam and his wife Lindsay.  Niece Jen Miller and husband Ned, nephew Darren Dorris and wife Lisa, and nephew Michael Dorris and wife Jayna reside in New Jersey.  Also, Peter is survived by his former wife Terry Tucker DePierri.

Peter graduated from Colonia Senior High School and Middlesex Jr. College, and attended Trenton State College.  Over the past twenty-five years, Peter was a very successful salesman for the former Millbury Motors, Bertera Nissan, and Lungren Honda of Auburn.

Peter loved fishing, using his tremendous construction and mechanical skills, and sand camping on Sandy Neck Beach in Sandwich, MA.

Although Peter had a plethora of ailments with which he courageously fought, he always maintained his amazing sense of humor, frequently reminding people that he had CRS.

The family would like to thank the outstanding nurses and doctors at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus on Lake Avenue, for their tremendous care of Peter.  Also to friends and family for their constant prayers and love we are most grateful.

A brief family viewing will take place before cremation, after which Peter’s wishes to be fulfilled are to have his ashes scattered over Cape Cod Bay at Sandy Neck.  Time and the tides . . .

In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter’s honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.

Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
