OXFORD – Rita M.H. (Lehto) Boudreau, 87, of Wild Rose Street, died Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge, after a battle with kidney disease. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Richard W. Boudreau who died in 2009. She is survived by two children, Teri M. Floyd and her husband Edward of Ocala, FL, and Michael R. Boudreau of Oxford; two grandchildren, Ashely Lynn Defries and her spouse Dana of Malden, and Shaun P. Nystrom of Ocala, FL; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Boudreau who died in 1956; two brothers, David Lehto and Richard Lehto; and two sisters, Helen Rawson and Janet Lumbra. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Emile and Alberta (Lambert) Lehto, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1975. She attended Commerce High School in Worcester.
Mrs. Boudreau was a foster parent for children through Catholic Charities for several years. Later, she was a babysitter for many children within her family, and for friends outside of her family for over 30 years. She was a Cub Scout den leader when her children were young. Mrs. Boudreau was a member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed puzzles, word searches, cooking and baking. She was a wonderful homemaker and mother, and she will be remembered for the wonderful meals she cooked for her family.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main Street, Oxford. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours are Tuesday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oxford, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Visitation House, 119 Endicott St., Worcester, MA 01610.
