OXFORD – Bernice V. (Bugbee) Messier, died Sunday, September 16, 2018, at St. Mary’s Health Care Center in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Ronald J. Messier of Oxford who died in 2015. She is survived by three daughters, Wendy A. Prunier and her husband Kenneth of North Oxford, Lynn Yeiter and her husband David of Rindge, NH, and Ann Williams and her husband Bill of Oxford; a brother, Harold Bugbee of Spencer; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two sisters, Frances Smith and Shirley Mahota. She was born in Oxford, daughter of the late Harold and Temperance (Lowe) Bugbee, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1946 and received her associate’s degree from Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester.

Mrs. Messier worked as a dental hygienist throughout her life, spending the last 12 years of her employment working for Dr. Kozica in Worcester. She enjoyed traveling throughout the world and loved spending time with her family.

A graveside service will be held privately at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Health Care Center, ATTN: 3rd Floor, 39 Queen St., Worcester, MA 01610. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
